LG E2360V-PN
A 23-inch LED monitor from LG
The new LG-PN E2360V computer monitor has an interesting design design, but its performance, without being bad, is not impressive compared to the competition from the market.
Expectations before tests
If you look at what the market is currently offering, you will see a lot of LED monitors available. However, some models seem to have a lot of success and many others have disappointed their users. Apparently, LED backlight is supposed to improve contrast ratio, uniformity of brightness and consumption of the display, but this is not always the case. The producer claims that the PN E2360V monitor has a static contrast ratio of 1000:1 with a brightness of 250 cd / m² and a response time of 5 ms. Dimensions are good and the panel has only 12.5 mm in thickness. With this in mind, we tested this model and we can say it is one of the best surprises from the beginning of the year.
Reality
The design of this LG monitor is interesting and quite successful, but doesn’t look as if it is offering more than the competition. In fact, its foot is basic and you will not be able to adjust the height of the monitor as you wish. The format is thin and very light, but this is now a common feature for almost all monitors powered by LED as a source of light.
Weak response time
Even if the producer claims that the speed of the display is good, the LG-PN E2360V is not really made for serious gaming. Our measurements revealed that the LCD’s panel is on average 16.5 ms for a round trip between white and black, a huge value compared to what the producer said. Other monitors are much faster and the best value is around 4 ms in our performed tests. In this case, a high response time leaves an after-image behind moving objects, causing a small blur to the eye of the user. This a bad thing and a problem for fast video games (shooting games, racing cars, and other similar movements). If you try to play you will feel a visual discomfort.
Anyway, strictly for multimedia, this monitor has complete connectivity for formats: VGA port, DVI-D and HDMI with audio input and output jack 3.5 mm for headphones connectivity. A bad point is the absence of integrated speakers into the monitor frame.
Medium color quality
If you look at the quality of the image, the LED backlight of the display seems to offer what it said it would do. Brightness is relatively good with OK uniformity and blacks are deep. If you use the default settings, contrast ratio is about 1197:1 and the brightness is about 239 cd / m².
The measurement performed after the calibration showed different and better values: about 114 cd / m² brightness and a decreased contrast ratio, even if it still remains higher than 1000:1 according to measurements. This is a good value ! Gamma scale is good in both cases, very close to a value of about 2.2. The display is not excellent in terms of gray and color fidelity rendering. In fact, the results are medium, even after calibration with our special probe.
Not so Eco friendly
We must play fair and say that this monitor with its LED technology offers good maximum brightness of 238 cd / m² (this is the average value of nine measurement points on the display). You must know that its backlight seems to be hotter than the other LED monitors made by rivals. This warmth is not affecting the display itself. Power consumption of this model is also higher than average: 28.7 W in operation, while the monitors Iiyama E2473HDS and Hanns.G HL245DBB are able to offer superior brightness (243 cd / m²) at lower values of consumption, 23.6 and 20.7 W in our tests.
Review conclusion
After this test, we arrived to the conclusion that the LG-PN E2360V is able to rank in the top of LED displays with medium performance. This value is acceptable just for a model which costs less than 200 euros. The monitor is too slow for gamers, but image quality is good if you need to use it in conventional offices and multimedia tasks. We think that the users will prefer its brother, the LG IPS236V powered by an IPS panel with impressive performance. This will cost you more compared to the model we tested today.

Thanks. I was thinking to by one, bud i play so much. This is not good monitor to play. I will try another. Good review.
Well! I was thinking about buying one for game x360, but now, not anymore, (i still get LG W2252tq wiothout HDMI) now i intend to buy the older model LG W2452V cause i´ve read some reviews and besides old is very nice for Gamers only 2ms response! Looks great!
Thanks for the tips!
I am curious as to why, since this monitor has no speakers, that it has volume control. That seems very strange.
Bit of a harsh review.. I’ve read several which state the ghosting is absolutely non-existant even in fast moving footage and games.
Seems overly critical to basically say don’t buy this for games, it isn’t good at all.
I notice the color precision isn’t very good . Mine looks a bit \cyan\. but for playng games is not that bad (a gamer word
Yeah, I wouldn’t read much into this review. I stumble across it via google. I’ve read a tonne of reviews from very reputable sites that praise this monitor. Going to get one for my 560ti SLI rig.
Read around and your opinion might differ from this review. Can you say “Cash for comment!” LOL
What were the settings that you used to calibrate the monitor?
