Asus Windows 8 laptops with integrated Kinect
Notebooks with games technology
After a long time of waiting for this piece of news, Kinect has finally decided it was about time to invade laptops. And not just any laptops, but specifically the ones which work with the Windows operating system. Because, after all, Kinect is the brainchild of Microsoft.
Asus is the company that will produce prototypes of laptops that run on Windows 8 and are branded with the motion-sensing Microsoft Xbox 360 Kinect peripheral central technology. The daily.com site is the first witness to the rise of such a product and, according to their sources, the two laptops sporting Kinect sensors are easy to control by the user, who doesn’t even need to be close by: they only have to wave one of their arms or hands and the device will respond immediately. The sensors are placed where the webcam usually sits.
Facial recognition
Some might question the use of this Kinect technology, seeing as the keyboard is capable of giving the same reply without consumers having to wave their hands or arms around. Microsoft, though, is relentlessness and argues that the Asus Windows 8 laptop with built-in Kinect will prove to be the ultimate fascination.
Among the new features that the Kinect hardware and software will bring to the table is the modified way in which users can log onto their laptops. And that means the use of the sensor’s facial recognition and voice that make devices, if we are to believe what Microsoft claims, extra secure. Developers aren’t forgotten. Microsoft is giving them access to software that will help them build applications for Windows that are controlled by Kinect.
The Windows 8 prototype has a potential that is rumored to be big. We’ll be able to control our Asus laptop in a way that won’t imply sitting directly across it. And the Voice feature will make it easy to control the ASUS Windows 8 laptop that integrates Kinect without having to leave various work behind.
