Motorola MotoLuxe and Defy Mini Android phones

Two low cost phones

China, Europe and Latin America will be the first places whose inhabitants will be able to buy Motorola’s new MotoLuxe and Defy Mini smartphones with Android this coming spring. An official presentation will be done for both them at the next CES starting next week on Tuesday. The launch date for these 2 devices in the US is unknown.

The MotoLuxe and the Defy Mini are Motorola’s cheaper smartphone alternatives for all people who don’t have enough money for the more expensive models.

Some specifications unveiled

A press release coming directly from Motorola states that, while the MotoLuxe is a device with a slim device (touch sensible), the Defy Mini is offered protection against water and dust, so it’s a phone that will make good team with people working in harsh environments.motorola-motoluxe

The MotoLuxe and its screen will be a 4 incher WVGA with a resolution of 854 x 480, the CPU will be an 800MHz complete with 512MB of internal memory. An 8P camera with videocam, a lanyard slot for checking missed calls, messages and such, a MotoSwitch user interface, Social Graph and Activity Graph features and a 1400 mAh battery (with 6.5 hours of talk time) are all the specs and options available on this model.

Gorilla Glass display

The Defy Mini is the most durable of the two smartphones, being able to put a good fight when dust or water get in its way. The screen has Gorilla Glass and a 3.2″ touchscreen which contains 320 x 480 pixels. Of course it’s smaller than the MotoLuxe edition, but its solid nature will play a more important role we think. 600MHz of CPU, a cam with 3-megapixels and flash on the rear and one VGA cam on the front, a battery of 1650 mAh and capable of 10 hours of talk time complete the specifications and features of this device.

Other details about the Motorola MotoLuxe and Defy Mini Android phones will be made public from the 10th of January onwards.
