Panasonic ST50 the best TV value ever ?
An impressing 3D HDTV
Last year Panasonic introduced the ST30 TV that cost $900 and came as a very good surprise in terms of performance and it was considered as the best value in its price and class. Since this is 2012 we’re talking about, it was time for the company to start work on another TV and it is here, at last. The ST50 has big shoes to fill.
A classification of the Panasonic ST50 would be that it situates itself in the middle of the company’s other TVs. There are 4 sizes to this device and the 50″ one is what is being presented for the first time. The VT50 and the GT50 predecessors both served as inspiration when Panasonic decided to keep all the best features they have, like an Infinite Black Pro panel which, according to testers, deliver a black level performance that is yet to be paralleled. And that’s definitely saying a lot, as the price is lower than those 2 models and others from Panasonic.
Viera Connect technology
This ST50 HDTV is sure to have some features of its own. An example of that is new louver filter that betters the quality on on-screen images if the TV sits in a room that’s too bright. A 2500 Focused Field Drive technology will, when turned on, improve motion resolution; that’s something that was available only for professional monitors. Viera Connect is a third feature that, manufacturers claim, will feature a web browser and built-in Wi-Fi for everything that has to do with the Internet. The UI is completely new and there’s DLNA streaming. Nobody expected this, but the Panasonic ST50 also has Bluetooth. Connections are the following: 2 USB ports and 3 HDMI ports.
Applications are supposed to be many and some of them are YouTube, Netflix, the 2 most important social platforms (Facebook and Twitter) and so on.
A converter for 2D-to-3D is available for Panasonic ST50 as well and 2 pairs of 3D glasses will seemingly immerse the viewer into the movies she or he will be watching.
