Samsung Unveils 55-Inch Super OLED HDTV
A long waited TV
Seems that LG is not the only company to bring an OLED HDTV to this year’s anticipated CES happening. Samsung is also presenting this kind of TV to the participants there and hoping that their product will be the one to draw their attention first and foremost. The device will go on sale somewhere in the middle of this year and it is expected to have a $1000 price tag.
The Samsung 55-Inch Super OLED HDTV doesn’t yet have an official name, but it will, if we are to believe the ones who made it, be the ultimate TV and the brand’s first consumer-available device. Samsung refers to itself as producing 95% of all OLED panels worldwide, so naturally the latest one will presumably leave LG’s own OLED HDTV far behind.
Gestures controls technology
To support this claim, representatives presented the product’s varied specs, features and everything in between, among them listing the following: like the name says a 55-inch display with a bezel that’s slim and a table-top stand in the shape of the letter U, 0.3″ (in depth), no color filter (so that the screen will show a lot of details, unlike LG’s TV), dual mics (to be used for video conferencing), voice/gesture controls, a high definition camera on the TV’s protrusion located on its top, facial recognition,an integrated browser, a dual-core CPU, support for watching content in 3D, self-emitting RGB sub-pixels and access to applications that will include the Angry Birds game, much to the delight of its fans.
The user interface is supposed to be more intuitive than previous ones and the response time will be much faster than ever before, so motion blur won’t exist in the Samsung’s 55-Inch Super OLED HDTV vocabulary.
We think the Samsung 55-Inch Super OLED HDTV has a promising future ahead.
